Going to reportedly It will run entirely on renewable energy, be 33 times the size of New York City, and cost $500 billion. He goals bringing together an international community to “create a better future and address global challenges”, but it’s not all work and no play. One of its regions, Trojena, will house a ski resort in the desert.
Welcome to Trojena, home to the Neom Ski Resort and the Folded Vertical Village
The entire Neom megalopolis already looks like something out of a science fiction movie, and Trojena is the same. Aside from the ski resort, the region will also have a two-mile-long man-made lake and a folded vertical village called The Vault. This is located in one of the mountain valleys “with its own microclimate, lush vegetation, water sources and transformative architecture.”
The 2,400-meter high-altitude ski village is “a first for Saudi Arabia.” The plan is to have several slopes that people can ski on. The ski slopes promise to host both professionals and amateurs.
On top of that, outdoor skiing will be available year-round, except it won’t always be snowy terrain. Trojena will use different surfaces. A video shows a skier going down the slope of what almost looks like grassy terrain, which is sure to be a unique experience for visitors.
In addition to the Vault architectural complex and ski resort, Trojena will also be home to a variety of retail stores and family and wellness centers. Other sporting activities include mountain biking and water sports, while those who prefer to relax in nature can spend the day in the interactive nature reserve. The project is scheduled for completion in 2026.
